Stress - strain analysis of total hip replacement - type Santori
Huťka, Pavel ; Fuis, Vladimír (referee) ; Florian, Zdeněk (advisor)
Submitted Diploma thesis deals with stress-strain analysis of deformation proximal end of femur with applied total hip joint endoprosthesis (replacement) – shortcut type. To identify deformation and tensity (stress) was used computational simulation by method of final elements. Have been created two computational models TEP- type Santori and type DePuy Proxima. Geometry model Santori was created on low level model geometry through the use of X-ray photograph. Principle of geometry model type DePuy Proxima was real Femoral stem endoprosthesis which was scanned on scanner ATOS. Geometry of both these replacements were set up in program Rhinoceros 4.0 and then execute in program CatiaV5R17. Data for geometry model of femur were gained from CT chains. Material model of femur have been crated in two variants. The first one looks at structure bone tissues and the second one were created by Gruen´s zones. Femoral Stem was weighted by static equivalent resultant force acting in hip joint. Computational model of system and self solution, including depiction results, was done by ANSYS Workbench 11.0 for four model variants.
Influence of viscosupplementation on cartilage lubrication
Ondra, Martin ; Horák, Zdeněk (referee) ; Ranuša, Matúš (advisor)
This work deal with the determination of the effect of viscosupplementation on the lubrication of articular cartilage in the beginning phase of osteoarthritis. This effect was evaluated based on the development of CoF measured by a tribometer in configuration pin-on-plate. The tribological model of incipient osteoarthritis was simulated by using two articular cartilages lubricated with osteoarthritic synovial fluid to which viscosupplementation agents were added. These preparations differed mainly in cross-linking and molecular weight of hyaluronic acid (HA). Measurements have shown that viscosupplementation may be effective in the beginning phase of osteoarthritis. The efficacy of viscosupplementation preparations with cross-linking HA was significantly higher compared to the efficacy of viscosupplementation preparations without cross-linking. These results support the use of viscosupplementation to delay the advanced stage of osteoarthritis.
Analysis of Kinematic and Dynamic of Knee Joint
Halama, Jakub ; Dočkal, Kryštof (referee) ; Urban, Filip (advisor)
The bachelor thesis summarizes present knowledge of the knee joint in terms of its mechanics, it compares joint kinematics and dynamics during various locomotor activities of daily living such as: gait, standing up from the chair, ascending and descending stairs, running. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on the changes in the motion and loading of the joint in the cases of osteoarthritis and knee replacement in comparison with healthy individuals. Lastly, it also describes the loading asymmetries between healthy and affected knee.

The Case Study of Physiotherapeutic Treatment of a Patient after Total Hip Arthroplasty
Petr, Martin ; Maršáková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Nováková, Tereza (referee)
Author: Martin Petr Supervisor: Mgr. Kateřina Maršáková Title: The case study of physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient after total hip arthroplasty Objectives: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to summarize in the general part information concerning osteoarthritis and total hip arthroplasty and in the special part to elaborate a case study of physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient with this diagnosis. Methods: This thesis is divided into two main parts. The first is the general part, which contains information about osteoarthritis and hip alloplasty. The manifestations of osteoarthritis, its diagnostics, distribution, causes and treatment options are mentioned. For alloplasty, surgical approaches, complications associated with surgery, types of joint replacements and possible rehabilitation procedures are listed. The second part of this work is a special section, which includes a case study of a patient after total hip arthroplasty. It consists of medical history, initial kinesiological analysis, short- and long- term therapeutic plan, course of individual therapeutic units, output kinesiological analysis and therapy effect evaluation. Results: The stated goals of the short-term therapeutic plan were met. The patient left the rehabilitation clinic fully self-sufficient and, compared to the...
Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient after Total Knee Replacement
Viktora, Adam ; Žáková, Lenka (advisor) ; Sohrová, Jana (referee)
iv Abstract Author: Adam Viktora Supervisor: PhDr. Lenka Žáková, Ph.D. Title of the thesis: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient after Total Knee Replacement Objectives: The goal of this thesis is to gather and understand the theoretical knowledge of the knee joint, osteoarthritis, total knee replacement surgery and its rehabilitation, and then evaluate the therapeutic sessions that were applied. Clinical findings: This study evaluated the condition of a 73-year-old patient after total knee replacement of the right knee. The examination showed a reduced range of motion, reduced mobility of joints, muscle imbalances and differences in conditions of soft tissues. Methods: All methods used for this study were based on the knowledge learned and the literature provided by the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, Charles University. Results: Following the eight therapeutic sessions, the patient had progressed well overall. Progress was seen in terms of pain, range of motion, muscle imbalances and condition of soft tissues. Conclusion: The therapies applied were effective and valuable in this specific diagnosis of the patient. Key words: knee joint, osteoarthritis, gonarathritis, total knee replacement, physiotherapy, case study, rehabilitation

Uhlíková, Barbora ; Žáková, Lenka (advisor) ; Vincová, Gabriela (referee)
Author: Barbora Uhlíková Supervisor: PhDr. Lenka Žáková, Ph.D. Title: Case study of physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient with Rheumatoid arthritis after total hip replacement Objectives: The aim of this thesis is the theoretical elaboration of information regarding the diagnosis and preparation of a case report of physiotherapeutic care in a patient diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis with a condition after TEP of the hip joint. Methods: The theoretical part deals with the anatomy and kinesiology of the hip joint, information about rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, treatment options for osteoarthritis, hip arthroplasty and subsequent physiotherapy intervention after hip replacement. The special section includes initial kinesiological analysis, individual therapies, outcome kinesiological analysis and evaluation of the effect of physiotherapy intervention. The thesis also includes a comparison of the physiotherapy methods selected and used by me with the literature. All physiotherapeutic methods and procedures used during the therapy are within the framework of the Bc in Physiotherapy at UK FTVS. Results: During the physiotherapy intervention consisting of 9 sessions, the patient experienced several positive changes. The therapies were without complications. The results of the therapies...
